It is the return to confinement for 21 million French people as of Saturday, March 20, 2021. The Prime Minister announced Thursday a re-containment in the territories most affected by the third wave of Covid-19. In the other departments, the curfew passes at 7 p.m. A new certificate must justify your trips during the day and at night in the 8 departments of Île-de-France, in Hauts-de-France and in part of Normandy.
Several decisions are to be remembered from the press briefing by Prime Minister Jean Castex. Ile-de-France, Hauts-de-France, Alpes-Maritimes, Eure and Seine-Maritime enter confinement on Saturday March 20, 2021 (the night from Friday to Saturday at midnight). While a generalization of containment on weekends was announced as the most plausible option, the government finally opted for stronger measures.
The appearance of new variants of Covid-19 and the saturation of resuscitation services require certain territories to be placed under cover. The duration of the confinement will be at least four weeks, ie until Friday, April 16, 2021. Non-essential businesses close their doors 7 days a week. And unlike the previous confinement, the radius of recreational outings around the home increases to 10 km.
Where to download the derogatory certificate to travel during confinement from March 20, 2021?
As usual, you can download the new certificate here, on this page or on the website of the Ministry of the Interior. You can also generate the travel certificate on a smartphone or from the TousAntiCovid application. We are still awaiting the decree setting out the modalities of the travel certificate.
Jean Castex has, however, already enumerated the broad outlines. The reasons for displacement remain generally the same as during the previous confinements. The main novelties concern, “ travel within a maximum radius of 10 kilometers around the home ” and not more than a kilometer. No time limit is also now imposed, which constitutes a significant relaxation.
The validated reasons are: the individual physical activity of people, walking with only people grouped together in the same home and the needs of pets. Collective sports practices and any proximity to other people remain prohibited. Interregional travel is also prohibited, you will therefore not be able to go from a confined red zone to a green zone.
The kindergartens, primary and secondary schools will remain open. The high schools all pass in half-gauge in the 16 departments in confinement. Finally, only so-called “essential” businesses will keep their doors open. Record stores and booksellers are now part of it, which represents another change from previous lockdowns.
To summarize the new flagship measures:
- Recreational outings within a maximum radius of 10 kilometers around the home and without time limit
- Interregional travel prohibited in confined areas
- Kindergartens, primary schools and colleges remain open. The high schools pass in half-gauge
- Closures of non-essential businesses. Record stores and booksellers are authorized to open.
