Serasa: how to pay IPVA, fines and vehicle licensing in the app

O payment of IPVA, annual licensing and vehicle fines can be carried out in installments through the application of Serasa. The solution was developed in partnership with Zapay, a startup specializing in vehicle debt that has been operating for four years, has served 3.5 million owners and regularized more than 500,000 cars.

The functionality is still in the testing period and allows free consultation of pending and future values in 22 State Departments of Transit (Detrans). When this phase is over, the service will also be available in Bahia, Paraná and Ceará and will be expanded to 25 states.

The app allows the payment in cash by Pix or bank slip and, even, divided in up to 12 installments on the credit card. The process is carried out completely online, in an agile, safe, simple and bureaucratic way.

The Motor Vehicle Property Tax (IPVA) is due annually by all people and companies that own automobiles, such as cars and motorcycles, and obeys a payment schedule different in each state.

The payment of the state tax, along with other fees such as licensing and pending fines, is essential for the release of the updated Certificate of Registration and Licensing (CRLV).

What happens if you don’t pay the IPVA?

The lack of payment of the IPVA, in itself, does not generate points on the national driver’s license (CNH), traffic fines or vehicle seizure. This does not mean, however, that the late vehicle owner will not be penalized.

As the tax debt prevents the issuance of the updated CRLV, the owner can be penalized for circulating with the document expired with a very serious infraction worth R$ 293.47, seven points on the CNH and removal of the vehicle.

How to consult and pay vehicle debts?

The consultation and payment of vehicle debts must be carried out, in an official way, on the website of each state Detran or through the applications of accredited banks. In each case, the procedures vary and may require several steps. However, from the Serasa app, the process becomes faster. See how.
