As a Alexa and Amazon Echo on the market, it’s no surprise that tech giant Google is looking for more features to stay competitive, like sending audio messages over WhatsApp.

In English, the company’s virtual assistant, aptly named Google Assistant, currently has ten voices to choose from (five male and five female), as well as options dubbed by celebrities.

In Portuguese, there is not much choice, but the big tech has released a new male voice and will likely have more ways to personalize your devices soon. Options are offered in orange and red to avoid gender stereotypes.

The company responsible for developing the new voice is DeepMind, an AI company from the Alphabet group. Unlike the first available voice, which was dubbed, the new option was performed entirely by algorithms using WaveNet technology.
