Samsung Galaxy S21: this is the possible name for the next premium phones from Samsung. Just like the previous generation, Galaxy S20, smartphones are expected to bring together advanced specs with a Snapdragon 875 or Exynos 2100 processor, batteries up to 5,000 mAh and a camera up to 108 megapixels.
In all, three phones should be presented: Samsung Galaxy S21, Samsung Galaxy S21 + and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Still, the names have not been confirmed; there are also those who bet on Samsung Galaxy S30, Galaxy S30 + and Galaxy S30 Ultra. Check out what to expect from the launches below.
Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21 + with flat screen
Some changes are expected in the visual. It is believed that the S21 and S21 + will have a flat screen, unlike their predecessors. But this does not mean the end of the curved edges: they should be only for the Ultra variant, the most advanced (and most expensive) option of the trio.
In addition, according to behind-the-scenes information revealed in November, the back of the Samsung Galaxy S21 may be plastic while the S21 Ultra tends to keep the glass. The front camera, however, must remain in a hole in the display.
Check out the possible screen specifications for cell phones below:
- S21: 6.2 inches, Full HD + resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate;
- S21 +: 6.7 inches, Full HD + resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate;
- S21 Ultra: 6.8 inches, WQHD + resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate;
Main camera up to 108 megapixels
It is believed that the Galaxy S21 and S21 + will have the same triple photographic set, with main camera, ultrawide and 12 megapixel telephoto lens. The improvements, therefore, would be for the most advanced option of the trio, the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
In addition to the main camera of 108 megapixels and ultrawide also of 12 megapixels, the cell phone can still bring two more 10 MP sensors, with 3x and 10x zoom. The front camera tends to keep the 40 MP of the previous generation.
In mid-October 2020, the Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21 Ultra appeared in leaked images with cameras positioned on a base that extends from the edges, in the upper left corner. The same should happen with the S21 +.
Advanced technical sheet with large battery
The advanced technical sheet is a feature expected in launches. It is believed that Samsung smartphones will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 and Exynos 2100 processor, depending on the region, in their respective technical data sheets. The amounts of RAM and storage, however, are still a mystery.
Samsung must not make drastic changes to the batteries. The South Korean brand is expected to maintain the same capabilities as the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 Ultra in its successors, at 4,000 mAh and 5,000 mAh, respectively.
The novelty would be for the S21 +. In September 2020, the possible cell phone battery was certified with 4,800 mAh, just before the approval of the part by Anatel. The capacity is superior to the component of the Galaxy S20 +, of 4,500 mAh.
The possible specifications complete the connectivity 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6 on the S21 and S21 + and Wi-Fi 6E on the S21 Ultra. Samsung Galaxy phones are still expected to come out of the box with Android 11 (One UI 3.1) from the factory.
No charger and headphones in the box
After the iPhone 12, it may be Samsung’s turn to leave the charger and headphones out of the box of their cell phones. This is because the South Korean brand is considering launching the Samsung Galaxy S21 without the accessories, which would be sold separately, according to recent rumors.
Another possible novelty is support for the S Pen in the successor of the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The accessory, however, should not accompany the trio’s most advanced cell phone in the box. Instead, Samsung plans to sell cases where it will be possible to store the pen next to the phone.
Samsung Galaxy S21: when and how much?
In general, Samsung unveils the new Galaxy S phones in February. The tradition, however, can be broken this time: the expectation is that the South Korean brand will launch the successors of the Samsung Galaxy S20 in January 2021 in dispute with Huawei and Apple.
This article will be updated over time if new rumors and information about Samsung Galaxy phones become public in the future.
