The Brazilian Intelbras it is well known for its security, communication, smart home and networking devices. However, the company also invests in other segments and the Focus Style is an example of this. The new headset hit the market in December last year with a different style and suggested price of R $ 399.
The Focus Style features a compact and minimalist design, a battery that guarantees up to 16 hours of playback and passive noise cancellation. Is it worth investing in this headset? I tested the Intelbras product and count my impressions in this review.

Design and comfort
Instead of adopting a more contemporary look in the style of the JBL TUNE 500BT or Edifier W800BT, for example, Intelbras designed a compact headset with a retro feel. Despite the different design, the construction is very firm and gives a feeling of robustness and durability due to the metal present in almost any product.
The bow won another material that imitates leather and reinforces this impression of a sophisticated product. The right shell houses the on / off button, also used to answer calls, play / pause songs or to activate virtual assistants by double-clicking. There are still the volume controls, a micro USB connection for power and an auxiliary P2 input.
The headset weighs 485 grams and using it on a daily basis can be somewhat uncomfortable: yes, there is significant internal pressure and, even with the arc adjustment, I was not able to have a good usability. It seemed to me that this “problem” is related to the lateral adjustment that is limited.
Therefore, I would avoid using Focus Style for many hours straight with movie playback, in long meetings or on a walk. Unlike other more complete models, it does not have a carrying case; in the box, you only receive the power cable and a P2 auxiliary audio cable.
Sound quality, noise cancellation and battery
Before talking about sound quality, it is important to emphasize that Intelbras did not provide any application to equalize and take advantage of other resources. The cool thing is that, in addition to the available Bluetooth, there is the advantage of listening to music or watching movies through the removable P2 cable. So, this versatility is very positive.
The Focus Style proposal should please consumers who are not looking for a complete headset. It does not promise crystal clear sound, it is possible to notice some distortions, especially when the volume is at maximum, but I liked the bass present and balanced.
At the same time, the mediums were more present and the vocals are clear, which generates an even more active sound experience, this in pop. In rock, the situation gets even more intense, because the phone can emphasize the instruments and, at the same time, emphasizes the vocal, which made me feel more immersive.
Electronics follow in this direction and are also vigorously reproduced. However, this impact, which can also define the Intelbras headset, impairs acoustic songs that are shocking, giving more value to the beats, in addition to generating noise.
As for the passive noise cancellation, which the company highlights, it really works, especially because the headset pressed my ears so hard that even the sound that was being played on an Amazon Echo with volume 4 disappeared when I connected the Focus Style to the cell phone.
In summary, for everyday life the experience can be satisfactory, since the gadget isolates the noise of cars, buses and even an ambulance well, as happened during the product evaluation.
As for phone calls, I felt that the conversation is only clear in quiet places, because the microphone is a little limited making the conversation quiet and there is no technology to prevent outside noise. The situation was similar to audios on WhatsApp.
Regarding autonomy, the phone presented an excellent result. Connected to an iPhone 12 to play music continuously, the Focus Style was active for more than 8 hours and, at the end of the day, there was still 70% left. The company claims that a charge of 120 minutes guarantees up to 16 hours of playback. That is, I still had 8 more hours of battery life for the next day. Amazing!
Intelbras Focus Style: is it worth it?
The Focus Style is an affordable, versatile headset with satisfying sound quality that can appeal to basic consumers. This also means that, yes, it may be worth the investment, but it is important to consider some limitations and specific problems. In my case, the limited adjustment was what bothered me the most, being responsible for causing pain due to pressure and that is why I would never use the product for hours at a time. It is good to remember that this was my experience with the headset and with you the situation may be different.
Intelbras classifies the Focus Style as a corporate headset and, in fact, at a time when many people are at home working and studying online, the gadget proves to be very useful with these activities. You can easily connect it to any device, control the volume on the phone itself and even activate virtual assistants, including Cortana on Windows. In addition, if the battery is discharged, it is possible to use the P2 cable to avoid paralyzing a meeting.
Still, I missed a certification for protection against water and sweat. And Bluetooth 4.1 in a 2020 product did not cheer me up very much and all its limitations are felt in practice.
Looking at the competition, the JBL TUNE 500BT is an interesting and more affordable option. Its shape, which is similar to the Sony ZX110, a cheap headset that I use on a daily basis, is much more comfortable. Speaking of the Japanese company, they have the WH-CH510 on the market, which is also cheap and promises 35 hours of battery life. Therefore, there are plenty of options to choose from.
