THE IRS has a new auction in progress, with lots that include cell phones Xiaomi, iPhones, consoles Xbox Series X and PS5, in addition to other computer items. Unlike other auctions carried out by the entity, in which it is possible to find phones in lots at very low initial bids (BRL 300), in this session, most bids with electronics start at BRL 85,000 — but it includes hundreds of products. a good choice for resellers.
The Internal Revenue Service expects to collect at least R$8.2 million in this auction, R$2.58 million of which in cell phones alone. The main lots are in Cascavel (PR). It is worth remembering that those responsible for the auction must be able to pick up the goods on the spot, as the Revenue Service does not deliver. Bidding proposals are open until August 9, 2021 at 9:00 pm.
Altogether, there are around 3,800 Xiaomi cell phones available in the advertised batches, including Redmi Note 9, Poco X3 models, among others. Interested parties will also find approximately 300 iPhones, as well as Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch consoles.
Xbox Series X impounded may be resold
Remember that finding Xbox Series X in Brazil is not such a simple task. In June, Microsoft even announced that the console would still take time to return to the market after shortages and high demand, and recommended that fans not buy from resellers, who charge exorbitant prices.
The truth is that the company faces a global fight against money changers, who run out of stocks of the product to resell at much more expensive values. Furthermore, the shortage of chips has had a major impact on console production and distribution around the world.
How does the Federal Revenue Auction work?
The Internal Revenue Service carries out auctions with products seized because they are in an irregular situation in the country, or because they have been abandoned – the procedure has proved to be extremely profitable, and has already generated more than R$ 2.6 billion in the last 10 years. The finishes are made through the Electronic Auction System (SLE), developed by Serpro.
It is possible to purchase products as an individual (PF) or legal entity (PJ), and some batches are blocked for purchase by PF. When carrying out an auction as an individual, the individual cannot resell the item.
Goods auctioned by the Internal Revenue Service are not subject to federal taxes, but there is an ICMS tax on the value of the auction. See more information in this full article from Techblog.
