As many people may already know, July 13th is considered Rock Day, in commemoration of the date the Live Aid event took place in 1985. Considering that games and Rock and Roll go well together, we took this special day off. to recall the most iconic songs from guitar hero.

These aren’t necessarily the best known songs or the most successful songs in the real world, but rather the ones that stood out in games at the time this franchise was at its peak. If you’re curious, just check out our playlist, I mean, our selection below!

1. I love rock n’ roll – Joan Jett & The Blackhearts

It would be difficult to make a list of iconic songs from guitar hero not to mention the first song most fans of the franchise played. Joan Jett’s version of I love rock n’ roll it was the track with which we started our musical adventure and it wasn’t even possible to debut our stage presence with a more appropriate song than that.

two. Paint it Black – The Rolling Stones

The great work of The Rolling Stones, Paint it Black, appeared with bonus music at the end of the “Making the Video” tier in Guitar Hero 3. It was certainly the first time that many children and teenagers heard this excellent song, which may have even aroused the desire to know more about the band.

3. one – Metallica

Guitar Hero 3 was full of rock classics, including one of Metallica. This longer song started out kind of slow and then transitioned to a much heavier feel and an amazing guitar solo that made us try Expert mode over and over again.

4. When You Were Young – The Killers

A little different from the heavier rock tracks in Guitar Hero 3, we also had When You Were Young of The Killers. The song has a very nostalgic appeal, even though it’s relatively new compared to other songs in the game. It was also a lot of fun to play and is here among the most iconic in the franchise.

5. Bohemian Rhapsody – Queen

Present in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, Bohemian Rhapsody it doesn’t need intros as it’s one of the best known songs in the world. Unfortunately, this track from Queen took a long time to make its appearance in the franchise, which was already far from its peak when this game was released. Still, there’s no denying that this was one of the most amazing songs to ever play on a Guse hero.

6. Carry on My Wayward Son – Kansas

While many younger people met Kansas’ Carry on My Wayward Son on the Supernatural series, there are those who first heard it with Guitar Hero 2. This was a bonus song from the “Amp Warmers” tier and closed this second selection of songs in an epic way!

7. Message in a Bottle – Police

Another classic and fun song to play in Guitar Hero 2 was the Police’s Message in a Bottle. The track had a kind of Reggae feel, which was very common in the early years of the band and gave a break in the heavier style of the previous songs in the game.

8. Killing in the Name – Rage Against the Machine

If there was a song to kick off the “Return of the Shred” tier in a lively way, it had to be Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine. Perfect for starting a revolution or just singing when you’re angry, the song was also great for playing and almost destroying the controller (or guitar).

9. free bird – Lynyrd Skynyrd

The last song available on Guitar Hero 2 was the wonderful free bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd, which has nine minutes and numerous guitar solos. It was a big challenge for many players, especially those who wanted to play it flawlessly in the hardest modes.

10. Through The Fire and Flames – DragonForce

Another long song that proved a challenge for a lot of people was Through The Fire and Flames DragonForce. The song was not among the normal tracks of Guitar Hero 3 and only appeared after you finished career mode on any difficulty. It appears during the credits by surprise, but it was possible to touch it anytime after it was unlocked.
