The fourth generation remakes of Pokemon — Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl — received news at Pokémon Presents this Wednesday (18th). Scheduled for release on November 19, the titles update the classic adventure in the Sinnoh region with high definition graphics and unprecedented mechanics, such as customization of the protagonists.
In celebration of gaming’s 15th anniversary, Nintendo will release a special edition of Switch Lite emblazoned with the legendary Dialga and Palkia in November.
In this presentation, the Pokémon Company showed off some new features that didn’t exist in the original games, but were included in the remakes. One of them is the option to walk with one of the team’s Pokémon outside the Poké Ball, as well as in Let’s Pokémon Go Pikachu & Eevee.
Another system that debuts in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl it is the customization of the protagonists, who can have different skin colors and wear other clothes in addition to the standard look.
Also, some activities that already existed in the original games were given new functions in the remakes. In Pokémon Contests, players will be able to participate in Super Contest Shows — a dance contest in which they have to get their commands right in time to the songs in order to use the blows.
The system of decorating the Pokeballs with stickers also returns in remakes. Custom effects appear whenever a Pokemon is put into battle. It is possible to apply animations of confetti, fireworks, among others.
In the underground of Sinnoh, players will find new “Pokémon hideaways” (Pokémon hideaway). In these areas wild monsters will appear – often unique – which will change depending on which statues are placed in secret Underground bases.
The underground can still be explored to find rare ores, such as evolution stones and fossils, just like in the original games.

Remake graphics have been polished since the last trailer
Much criticized when the game was first revealed, the graphics of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have been polished, with texture improvements and lighting effects such as reflections and shadows. In addition, the Pokémon Company promises other quality-of-life updates in gameplay.
Finally, the plot of the remakes will follow the already known story of Pokemon Diamond and pearl: Obtain the eight Sinnoh Gym badges, challenge Elite 4 and defeat the region’s champion Cynthia. Along the way, you’ll also need to stop the Galactic team from creating a new universe with the time and space powers of the legendary Dialga and Palkia.
Switch Lite special edition has the Sinnoh Legends
In celebration of the release of Brilliant Diamond Pokémon and Shining Pearl, Nintendo has unveiled a new Dialga and Palkia themed Nintendo Switch Lite model. The handheld was inspired by a special edition of the 2006 Nintendo DS Lite, which also featured the legendary stamped on the case.
The Nintendo Nintendo Switch Lite Dialga & Palkia Edition will be gray in color and will have the two legendary Pokémon drawn on the back in silver and gold. It goes on sale on November 5th.
