“When I launched the Vivobook, it really was the wow effect as soon as I laid my eyes on the screen! I was really blown away by the depth of the blacks and the vibrant colors. ”
An editor by training, Charlotte, 27, has been exercising her talents in a personal capacity for 4 years, as the host of the YouTube channel Kaelbel, on which she posts her own videos every week. The opportunity for her to express her passion for High-Tech through hands-on or unboxing sequences.

Charlotte, you replaced your machine with the ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X OLED for a few days, what are your first impressions?
For my Kaelbel channel, I shoot and edit one video per week with an old Macbook Pro from 2017. When I launched the Vivobook, it was really the wow effect as soon as I laid eyes on the screen ! I thought my usual machine rendered a pretty good picture, but I had never had the opportunity to work on an OLED display of this quality. I was really blown away by the depth of blacks and the vibrant colors.
Is the quality of the screen important for your editing activity?
When I tackle the editing of a video, without being an expert, I necessarily go through the colorimetry phase to make some basic adjustments, give the image a little pep and make sure that the blacks are really black. and the really white whites. For this, I use the tools available on the Premiere Pro editing software of the Adobe suite. With the OLED screen of the ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X OLED and all its certifications related to colorimetry [NDLR, Pantone avec une couverture 100% du spectre DCI-P3], I have complete confidence. Anyway, the result is visible to the naked eye: the colors are more realistic on this screen and the blacks as well as the whites are at the top.
During assembly, did the ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X OLED meet your expectations?
Again, the 16 inch screen, much larger than my usual 13 inch computer, really made it easier for me. The power of this Vivobook Pro and its large RAM [NDLR, 16 Go de LPDDR4 intégrés, jusqu’à 32 Go possible] also allowed me to work much more comfortably, by making my editing with full visualization, in full screen. Usually to prevent my machine from paddling too much, I have to limit the viewing to a quarter. With ASUS, everything is more fluid, I worked without display constraints and without slowing down.
On a daily basis, is the gain in comfort quantifiable?
Even though I make “fairly simple” edits every week with Premiere Pro, without using tons of special effects or transitions, and I limit my use of Photoshop to creating thumbnails, I still need of a fairly powerful machine. The Vivobook Pro saved me time far beyond my expectations. From a rush of about forty minutes, I produced a video of about 11 minutes. And I only took about ten minutes to export this 1 GB file, which is frankly comfortable! On the other hand, when I launch an export with Premiere Pro, the blowers usually activate fully, I have the impression that my machine is going to take off. So, the silent work of the Vivobook, thanks to its efficient fans and power, it really came as a pleasant surprise. Thanks to these two things, I no longer feel that the computer is at the end of its life. And I can even continue other tasks in parallel, on Photoshop for example. Another time saver!
What did you think of the equipment of this Vivobook Pro 16X OLED?
I generally liked the sleek and compact design of the Vivobook, although I don’t have to move around with it. The keyboard is very ergonomic because it is quite large, with the addition of a numeric keypad which saves me a lot of time. And it has an original side with its keys of different colors. The integrated fingerprint reader is very responsive, it also saves me from having to systematically type my secret code!
Does the ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X OLED offer unexpected functions that are useful for your business?
I think what really struck me was the endless possibilities for customization offered by this Vivobook. You can adjust everything to your liking, from the intensity of the ventilation to that of the blue light to less strain your eyes. The Dialpad is also a great idea, which once again allows for a great deal of personalization, saving time. It is a small light wheel that can be activated quite instinctively and which is displayed simultaneously on the touchpad and the screen. In video editing, everyone has their own habits and uses certain functions more than others. It is then possible to configure the Dialpad so that it puts your favorite shortcuts at your fingertips. I find this concept of ASUS quite nice and it can be perfectly integrated into an assembly process to gain speed.
