Motorola Edge S Pro Arrives with Gamer Phone Screen and More Discreet Design | Cell phone

Motorola follows different nomenclatures in Brazil and other parts of the world: it has just unveiled the Motorola Edge S Pro in China, which is very similar to the Edge 20 Pro recently announced here. That means the new phone has a 108 megapixel triple camera, a periscope lens for 5x optical zoom, and an OLED screen with a 144 Hz refresh rate.

Lenovo, owner of Motorola, highlights the Edge S Pro’s cameras: the 108-megapixel main sensor promises to take sharper pictures by capturing more details, while an 8 MP sensor is accompanied by a telescope lens that “folds” the light to allow 5x optical or up to 50x digital zoom. There’s even a 16MP sensor with a hybrid lens for wide-angle and macro modes.

The manufacturer is also proud of the 6.7-inch screen. The resolution is only Full HD+, but here we have a 144 Hz refresh rate for greater fluidity – something that tends to appear more on gamer phones like the Asus ROG Phone 3, Lenovo Legion Duel and Nubia Red Magic 6R. The tap sampling rate is even higher, at 576 Hz, to respond faster to your commands.

The Motorola Edge S Pro runs Android 11 with MYUI 2.0 because Google services don’t work in China. The system brings Ready For, PC mode to use in Windows 10 without the need to connect the smartphone to the computer: this way, it is easier to access information and apps that are only on the cell phone.

The differences between Edge S Pro and Edge 20 Pro are relatively small. Motorola says that the Chinese model has a battery of 4,520 mAh against 4,500 mAh in the international version, but this is probably just a question of marketing.

While the Brazilian model will have 12 GB of RAM, the Edge S Pro will be sold on Lenovo China’s website in versions with various memory and storage capacities:

  • 6 + 128 GB: 2,399 yuan (about R$1,900)
  • 8 + 128 GB: 2,699 yuan (about R$ 2,150)
  • 8 + 256 GB: 2,999 yuan (about R$2,385)
  • 12 + 256 GB: 3,299 yuan (about R$2,620)

We still don’t know the price of the Edge 20 Pro in Brazil, but it will cost €699 in Europe, or about R$4,200 – I imagine it’s even more expensive around here.
