Moto G 5G Plus with Snapdragon 765 and 8 GB of RAM arrives in Brazil | Cell phone

THE Motorola launched on Thursday (22) the Moto G 5G Plus, a smartphone that starts to take the 5G to a lower price range. The technology, which was available on the Edge line, with prices above five thousand reais, is the main attraction of the brand new premium intermediate cell phone, with a suggested price of R $ 2,999. Claro will have exclusivity in sales and will offer discounts to those who hire a plan.

The Moto G 5G Plus brings similar features to the Motorola Edge, such as the Snapdragon 765 processor, a screen size of 6.7 inches and the 5G connection, including support for the dynamic spectrum sharing technology (DSS) adopted by Claro. Even though it launched for much less than the R $ 5,499 of the most expensive brother, the new cell phone wins in some details, such as the amount of RAM and the battery.

Moto G 5G Plus has 8 GB of RAM in Brazil

The model that will be sold in Brazil will have 128 GB of space and 8 GB of RAM, more than the 4 or 6 GB of versions sold in other countries. Motorola promises that the Moto G 5G Plus 5,000 mAh battery “offers two days of use” and can be recharged with the 20-watt TurboPower plug adapter included in the box.

The 6.7-inch screen with Full HD + resolution is not curved on the sides like the Motorola Edge, nor does it have an OLED panel, but it does maintain a 90 Hz refresh rate for smoother animations and HDR10 support. In the upper left corner, there are two holes for the dual front camera, with a 16 megapixel main sensor and an ultrawide lens for taking 8 megapixel selfies with 118 degree field of view.

On the other hand, a quadruple system consists of a main camera of 48 megapixels (f / 1.7) with night vision mode, ultrawide of 8 megapixels (f / 2.2), macro of 5 megapixels (f / 2, 4) and a depth sensor for the background blur effect. The vertically arranged flash even resembles a xenon model, but actually consists of two LEDs.

The device runs Android 10 from the factory and has a promised update to Android 11. The version being analyzed by Tecnoblog brings software customized by Claro, with operator and commercial partner applications pre-installed in memory.

Moto G 5G Plus 5G has DSS and sub-6 frequencies

The main attraction of the Moto G 5G Plus is its support for fifth generation mobile networks. The model is ready for the main 5G bands, such as the 2,600 MHz n7, used by Claro to reuse the 4G frequency in the new technology. The n78, of 3,500 MHz, foreseen in Anatel’s frequency auction, is also compatible with the Snapdragon X52 modem. Like other 5G phones launched in Brazil, millimeter waves (mmWave) are not supported.

But 5G is still in its infancy in Brazil. Even in cities that have already received the first access points, such as São Paulo, it is difficult to be in a coverage area, even in the central regions. Motorola says that the inclusion of the technology in a more popular device may boost the installation of new networks in the country.

“Comparing the experience you had on Motorola Edge with the one you have today, the locations [cobertas com 5G] already increased. This is in line with the growth movement, to massify technology. Makes sense [incluir o 5G] in the Moto G family precisely because of the history of bringing features that until then were only available in premium and super premium ”, says product manager Thiago Masuchette to Tecnoblog.

Masuchette says that the Moto G 5G Plus should not “cannibalize” the Motorola Edge, a cell phone with the same processor, less RAM and more expensive, because the audience of the brand’s premium smartphone is looking for a superior experience in design, screen and cameras. The Edge has an OLED screen curved on the sides and, despite having a camera less in the rear, its main sensor of 64 megapixels tends to take photos with higher quality.

The Moto G 5G Plus will be sold by Claro for R $ 2,999, in blue. The device can also be found in Motorola stores and kiosks, with customized software by the operator.
