Learn to add music on WhatsApp status

Instagram and Facebook have a native tool to put songs in their stories, whereas WhatsApp doesn’t, even so, it’s possible to add songs to their statuses, although it’s not as simple as on other platforms.

Currently, the app only allows the insertion of popular stickers, emojis, phrases or drawings in the content that will be shared. However, for those who want to share music, it is possible to resort to a few simple tricks on Android and iOS phones.

The popular messaging app has not yet released a tool exclusively for this purpose, but it has already introduced several new features to its users, so it may be a matter of time before developers decide to launch a tool like Instagram.

Below, we’ve listed three ways to put music on WhatsApp status. Check out:

Inserting music into video with the CapCut app

1. Open the CapCut app, tap “New Project” in the center of the screen, then select the video you want to insert music into.

2. Tap “Select” at the bottom of the screen, then tap “Audio,” also at the bottom.

3. Select “Add Audio” and then tap on the song you want to add to the video. The application offers some music options, but you can also choose one that is downloaded on your phone. After tapping the arrow symbol to transfer the music to the app, select “+” to finish.

4. To adjust the music with the video, click on the white portion of the track and drag to the left or right. At the end, tap the export symbol at the top right.

5. To post the video directly to WhatsApp, just select the messaging app icon. Then, on the share tab, tap one more time.

6. When redirected to WhatsApp, tap “My Status” and then tap “Next”.

7. To finish posting the video on WhatsApp, tap the little blue arrow in the lower right corner. That’s it, now you have a video with music on your status.

Inserting music into video with Clips app

1. Open the Clips app and select the image or video you want to put the music on.

2. Select the music icon at the top of the screen and then “Soundtracks” to choose from the sounds suggested by the app.

3. Tap the song — on the first tap the app will download it, on the second tap you listen and select the sound. Go back to the previous screen by selecting “Back”, then tap “OK”.

4. To record sound over your photo, click on the pink button located in the center of the screen and wait a few seconds. The recording will appear at the bottom of the screen, tap “Play” to check the result.

5. To post to WhatsApp, tap the share icon at the bottom of the display, then the app icon, tap “My Status” and “next”.

6. Finally, tap the little blue arrow in the lower right corner. Ready. Now you have an image (or video) with music.

Inserting music by recording a video with the cell phone playing on the player

1. Open your favorite music player (Spotify, Deezer or others) and play the track you would like to record.

2. Open the WhatsApp app and tap “Status” in the left corner of the display. Then tap on the blue camera icon at the top of the screen.

3. Press the button in the center of the screen and hold until recording the part of the song you want to post. To finish recording, just release the button.

4. To post the music video to Status, tap the arrow icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
