IPhone 12 line price

The iPhone 12 line has not yet a launch date set in Brazil, and there is no official information about the price of the smartphone in the national market.

However, due to the values practiced abroad and based on the increase in the iPhone XR and iPhone 11 in the country, it is estimated that the iPhone 12 Mini will reach at least R $ 6,999, influenced in large part by the high dollar. If the scenario is correct, the Pro and Pro Max models may exceed the R $ 10,000 mark.

Screen and design

Apple finally embraced OLED technology and decided to release it for all models of the iPhone 12 line. This means that you will have good contrasts and more vivid colors than what was offered in iPhone 11 on any device of the new vintage, no only on the most expensive models.

The difference is due to the size, which also influences the final dimensions of the cell phones:

iPhone 12 and 12 Mini have more color options

If you prefer colored iPhones, the cheaper models (iPhone 12 and 12 Mini) offer more options: black, white, red, green and blue. Pro and Pro Max are available in silver, graphite, gold and pacific blue – more “serious” tones.

In addition, all new iPhones are IP68 certified and can be submerged in up to six meters of water for up to 30 minutes. In addition, they bring a special protection against falls on the front, called the Ceramic Shield, which promises 4 times more resistance.

High performance with Bionic A14 and 5G support

All models in the iPhone 12 line feature the same Apple A14 Bionic chip. The manufacturer claims that it is capable of processing 11 trillion operations per second – being more energy efficient and with “CPU 50% faster than any other competing smartphone”.

They also support 5G networks. All models are compatible with the fifth generation of mobile networks, but do not operate in the millimeter wave band (mmWave) that will be used in Brazil. Here, iPhones will be able to connect to the 5G Sub-6GHz.

The Pro and Pro Max models should get an extra boost in multitasking and performing more demanding tasks, as they have 6 GB RAM. The iPhone 12 and 12 Mini have 4 GB, like the iPhone 11.

It is not by chance that the most expensive models (with the largest amount of RAM) have features that demand a lot from the smartphone, such as the Apple ProRAW, which combines the characteristics of the RAW image format with Apple’s image processing features, such as Deep Fusion and Smart HDR – especially interesting for those working with audiovisual.

In storage, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini come in variants of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. The iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max have models with 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB.

Professional cameras on iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max

We arrived at the point that most differentiates the models of the iPhone 12 line: the photographic set. Here, the Pro and Pro Max models stand out with a triple camera, with wide, ultra-wide and telephoto lenses, the latter being the one that is not present in the iPhone 12 and 12 Mini.

In this way, the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max are the ones that offer greater versatility when taking pictures, whether from near or far. But the benefits for photo and video don’t stop there: in addition to the Apple ProRAW mode, mentioned earlier, the most expensive models can shoot in 4K HDR with Dolby Vision at up to 60 frames per second, while the standard model and the Mini shoot in the same conditions at up to 30 fps.

Another asset of the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max is the LiDAR scanner, which allows faster autofocus in low light situations and portraits with Night mode.

For selfies, both have a 12 MP sensor and f / 2.2 lens aperture. This time, Apple brought Night mode to the front camera and also to the rear ultra-wide lens on all models.

After all, between iPhone 12, 12 Mini, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max, which one to buy?

As Apple makes evident by nomenclature, the iPhones 12 Pro and Pro Max are the models indicated for professionals. Whether they are photographers, videographers or other content producers who want robust equipment to create (and even edit) your images with peace of mind.

If that is not your case, it is not worth investing that high. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini promise advanced performance and feature the same design as the more expensive models.

If you missed the smartphones that fit in your pocket, the Mini should be the most suitable version – but keep an eye on the battery, those who spend more time away from the sockets may prefer the conventional model, with a 6.1-inch screen, which promises two more hours of autonomy.
