here is the map of the towns and municipalities covered by Orange, SFR, Free and Bouygues

Orange, SFR, Free and Bouygues have been deploying their 5G network for a few months. The coverage remains partial with sometimes radically different situations depending on the operators. We help you in this matter to see more clearly.

The first 5G packages are available from the four operators. However, the problem is that for the moment the 5G coverage offered by Orange, SFR, Free Mobile and Bouygues remains very partial, with unequal technologies. Free Mobile, for example, is one of the most advanced, but most of the antennas installed transmit in the 700 MHz band, which means lower speeds, comparable to those of the best 4G technologies.

It should also be noted that 5G is slow to arrive in Paris with some operators. The situation should nevertheless change in March, thanks to a charter signed by the four operators.

free mobile

Free Mobile 5G card

Free Mobile is the most advanced operator in terms of 5G deployment, but it must once again be emphasized that for the most part, this coverage is provided by 700 MHz antennas unable to deliver speeds as high as the higher frequencies. You can consult the Free Mobile map by clicking here.

Bouygues Telecom

You’ve probably noticed it: operator maps are not always very clear, and in some cases it may not get you very far when it comes to choosing your 5G operator. That’s why there are also several very up-to-date official maps. This is particularly the case with the Arcep one, which we suggest you consult below:

5G nPerf debit card

To know fairly precisely the possible flow rates for each operator according to the precise location, at this stage there is no equivalent to nPerf. This map is therefore the most complete to date. to really get a true idea of what the 5G experience will be like at home depending on the operator you have chosen. You can access this map by clicking here.

Its operation is very simple : select the country, the operator and the option to display the rates. Then you just have to zoom in on the map. Obviously, we can see that the network is under construction. But it should be remembered that operators are under pressure to deliver the most satisfactory 5G service possible within a reasonable timeframe. If 5G is not yet available in your home, then you can tell yourself that it will happen fairly quickly.

In any case, for now, the four operators are only deploying the simplest 5G network to set up. Which is not to say that these networks always make it possible to achieve the promises of 5G technology. This will take until 2024 and the deployment of the mmWave antenna network, which delivers higher frequencies and will be installed densely, closer to customers.
