O Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is expected to be announced next week in two editions. In addition to the new Wear OS, the launch should also bring a battery that lasts up to seven days, according to people familiar with the matter heard by the German site WinFuture this Monday (2). The duo’s other novelties would be due to the improved technical sheet.
The battery is one of the focuses of the new Wear OS, a system announced by Google and Samsung in May that should be present in the new smartwatches. This may also be one of the highlights of the upcoming Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic: according to “several sources” to the German website, the watch should withstand up to seven days away from outlets.
It’s still unclear whether this capability applies to general everyday use or in some energy-saving mode. But the WinFuture says the 40mm Watch 4 and 42mm Classic models will have a 247 mAh battery. The 44 mm options of the conventional model and 46 mm of the Classic edition must have a component of 361 mAh.
Other specifications were presented by the German website at the same time. In the case of smaller models, a 1.19-inch screen is expected. Larger options can have a 1.36-inch panel. Both editions must still have Gorilla Glass DX glass, military certification (MIL-STD-810G) and IP68, in addition to water resistance (5 ATM).
The other points in common would be for the Exynos W920 processor, 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. The pair should also have a pulse oximeter and other sensors to monitor exercise, heart rate, sleep and more. The spec list should still have Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and 4G connectivity.
Samsung watches should start at 279 euros
On the same day, Evan Blass (@evleaks) anticipated possible watch prices on his Twitter profile. Starting with the conventional Watch 4, the 40 mm model should cost 279 euros (about R$ 1,710 in direct conversion). The larger model, 44 mm, tends to reach stores for 309 euros (around R$1,890).
The Watch 4 Classic, which will be distinguished by the swivel crown, tends to be more expensive. The smaller model, 42 mm, is quoted to bring the suggested price of 379 euros, the equivalent of about R$ 2,320, in Europe. If you want a larger option, 46 mm, the watch can be taken to the shelves for 409 euros (approximately R$ 2,505).
Blass even revealed values of other products. In the case of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the cell phone is expected to cost between 1,899 euros (BRL 11,630) and 1,999 euros (BRL 12,245). The Galaxy Z Flip 3 tends to sell for 1,099 euros (BRL 6,730) with 128 GB and for 1,149 euros (BRL 7,040) with 256 GB. The Galaxy Buds 2 should hit stores for 159 euros (R$ 975).
Galaxy Watch 4 Classic appears in new leak
O 91Mobiles revealed two photos of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic this Saturday (31). In common, note the watches with a rotating crown and two buttons on the right side, like the Galaxy Watch 3, but flat, as in other leaks. But the colors differ between the images published by the site: silver and black.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 with Wear OS, including the Classic variant, is expected to be introduced during Galaxy Unpacked. The event is set for August 11, 2021 and could also play host to Samsung’s new folding cell phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. The brand has yet to announce a new generation of its new wireless headsets via Bluetooth: the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2.
