Galaxy S22 should arrive in Brazil with a Samsung processor and AMD graphics – Mobile – Tecnoblog

Traditionally, to Samsung uses Exynos chips in the Galaxy S cell phone variants sold in most countries. But the company intends to do something different in 2022: the Samsung Galaxy S22 is slated to bring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 processor in more regions. But the Brazilian edition would continue with the Exynos 2200.

The rumor revolves around the variants of the Galaxy S21’s successor. This is because the most advanced cell phones are usually launched with a Qualcomm processor and another one from Samsung, from the Exynos line. Furthermore, the division is done by region. In other words, theoretically, you cannot go to a store in Brazil and choose the chip.

Overall, Samsung ships Exynos components to much of the world. Take the Galaxy S21 line, for example. Units with the Snapdragon 888 were destined for China and the United States. The edition that is sold in other countries has the Exynos 2100 inside. But this recipe may undergo a slight change.

That’s what a string of posts on Twitter suggests. This Tuesday (9), Max Weinbach reported that Samsung intends to launch the Galaxy S22 with the future Snapdragon 898 in Asia and Africa instead of the Exynos 2200. The answer was given to a tweet that brings a list with the models of the new generation of brand cell phones.

The list even gives extra details. As expected, the SM-S901U, SM-S906U and SM-S908U models, which must match the Conventional, Plus and Ultra editions, would be launched in the US with Snapdragon 898. The same processor would apply to the SM-S901E, SM- variants S906E and SM-S908E for Asia and Africa.

The Exynos 2200 would also be taken to South Korea. The chip would come in model phones SM-S901N, SM-S906N and SM-S908N. Other countries, including Brazil, would also receive editions with the Samsung processor under the following codes: SM-S901B, SM-S906B and SM-S908B. The list is based on an article from the Galaxy Club.

Exynos 2200 should bring AMD graphics and ray tracing

The Exynos 2200 tends to be the successor of the Exynos 2100. One of the bets for the chip is the implementation of the AMD RDNA 2 architecture, which would bring new features to enhance the cell’s graphics, such as ray tracing. Samsung’s processor details, on the other hand, have yet to be revealed.

The other variant of the Galaxy S22 lineup would reach consumers with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898. Successor to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, the chip is tipped to bring the core based on the ARMv9 architecture. Other novelties would be the manufacturing in a 4-nanometer process and the Adreno 730 graphics chip.

The two processors are expected to be announced later this year.

Galaxy S22 and S22+ must have 10 MP front camera

The new generation, on the other hand, should keep some features unchanged. According to the Galaxy Club this Tuesday (9), the Galaxy S22 and S22+ should be announced with a 10 megapixel front camera, the same resolution as the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+. By comparison, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 40 megapixel selfie sensor.

The pair can still keep the same design. The two phones are expected to continue with the flat screen and the camera lined up vertically in the upper left corner. The biggest difference would be for the Ultra variant, which tends to gain space to store the S Pen pen and adhere to the same visual language as the Galaxy Note line.

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S22 in early 2022.
