The National competition
Despite their good intentions and decent talent, Fire Saga was not the best Icelandic group in the film. Netflix. We meet the best singer in the country at the start of the film. While there is still a choice for the committee to choose someone to represent Iceland on the international stage. They all agree that Katiana is not only the most obvious option in the whole country. But that she is also good enough to be a solid candidate and, possibly, bring the trophy home.
Katiana may have had all the talent in the world, but the only thing she didn’t have was luck. Fire Saga, on the other hand, lived on it. The first stroke of luck for Lars and Sigrit comes when their CD is chosen at random from a box. Sigrit thanks the elves for making their magic work for them. Lars believes they were chosen for their talent.
The next step on their journey is to win the national competition, where they have to beat Katiana and perform at Eurovision. The show takes place in horrible conditions. And Lars, once again, sees everyone making fun of him. With such a disaster, he knows there is no hope for them. But luck smiled on them again, albeit in a very macabre way.

Since his colleagues were not listening to him, he decided to get rid of the problem otherwise. If he killed all the competitors, leaving no room for the latter, there would be no participation by Iceland. And therefore no chance of winning. However, he did not count in the luck of the Fire Saga, and they survived the attack. Even then, after their appalling performance, Victor thought they would never win the competition. Eurovision. However, defying everyone’s expectations, Lars and Sigrit managed to win hearts and reached the final of Eurovision.
It was then that Victor finally recognized that they were a problem and when he found Lars alone, he tried to kill him. Unfortunately for him, the elves turned out to be real and saved Lars, who began to believe in them for the sake of Sigrit.
