ATALANTA beat Lazio 3-2 in a fantastic derby of the 27th round of Serie A in Bergamo after losing 2-0 in the 11th minute.
The match practically didn’t even start, and Lazio seemed to secure the win. Already in the 5th minute, the hosts catastrophically set an offside trap and Lazzari rushed from the center to the right. He looked for Corre, but found De Roon who, wanting to break it, knocked the ball into his own goal.
The goal was cut by Atalanta, which was lost in wrong passes, and six minutes later, Milinković-Savić received the ball on the edge of the penalty area and scored with a precise shot for 0: 2.
It looked like Atalanta was going to experience a disaster because her defense was coming out too high and Lazi’s fast wings were doing what they wanted. In the 26th minute, Immobile got rid of the keeper at the entrance to the penalty area and shot from a great position near the goal.
Chances lined up
In the crazy rhythm of the match, the chances started to line up like on a tape, so two minutes after Immobile’s miss, someone in the crowd blocked Gosens’ excellent shot, and Zapata failed to clear the ball into the goal. After defending, Lazio escaped in another counterattack, again Immobile has a chance, but this shot of his also goes next to the goal.
Now it was Atalanta’s turn again, so in the 31st minute Malinovskij shot the corner with a great shot, but Strakosha bounced into the corner from which Djimsiti shot well, but the ball ended up in the corner again.
It was only a matter of time who would score first to get Atalanta back in the game in the 38th minute. Solid Zapata left the ball for Hateboer who threw from the right wing to the second post. There is Gosens who with a perfect header hits the opposite corner for 1: 2.
That goal completely woke Atalanta, who squeezed terribly by half time, but failed to create a real chance to go on vacation, although she gave a hint of what the sequel would look like.

From the first second of the second half, Atalanta attacked the visitors’ goal, so in the 49th minute, Gomez found Djimsiti with a great ball at the other end of the penalty area, whose shot would surely have ended in a goal if someone had not thrown himself in front of the ball. A series of home corners started, and in the 51st minute, Zapata ideally dropped the ball again for Djimsiti, whose shot went a little near the goal.
Lazio was falling minute by minute, and Atalanta was rising and the game had completely moved to half the Romans. But the guests defended themselves without too much trouble, even though their legs were visibly getting heavier. Correa came out, Cataldi got injured and the hosts seemed to smell that they could surely get to the point even though they were obviously chasing all three.
Their dominance paid off in the 66th minute when Malinovskij received the ball a little diagonally from the right side and with a fantastic shot from the edge of the penalty area knocked the ball into the goal for 2: 2.
The visitors got more nervous after that goal, and Milinković-Savić received a yellow card for a foul, and Luis Alberto Lazio could not put together a meaningful action. In the 77th minute, Gasperini took out Malinovski, and introduced Iličić and the Slovenian in the first action entered the chance, but he complicated the situation and the guests in the 80th minute broke into the corner from which they will receive a goal.
Strakosha giggled, Palomino turned
Tireless Papu Gomez scored, Strakosha desperately assessed the flight of the ball, and on the other tripod is Palomino who heads the ball into the practically empty goal for the final turnaround. He could Lazio by the end of the match and suffer harder because he opened up completely. However, the hosts did not miss the incredible misses of Gomez in the 90th minute and Muriel in the 91st minute.
With this defeat, Lazio remained four points behind Juventus, while Atalanta kept a six-point advantage over Roma in fourth place. Roma also lost to Sampdoria, but turned the match around with two goals by Edin Džeko in the second half.
