Busy week for Apple: this Wednesday (14), the company started selling the new Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE in Brazil. Smartwatches, which had already been approved by Anatel and even had prices in advance, arrive with new bracelets, blood oxygen meter on the most expensive watch and prices starting at R $ 3,799. The amounts may exceed R $ 10,000, depending on the model.
Apple Watch Series 6 has faster blood oxygen meter and chip
THE Apple Watch Series 6 is the most complete model: it brings a new blood oxygen saturation meter (SpO2), emitting green, red and infrared light on your wrist to calculate the level (between 70% and 100%) in up to 15 seconds. The Series 5 electrocardiogram (ECG) remains there, as well as the square shape and the 40 and 44 mm versions.
Inside, the Apple Watch Series brings a new Apple S6 chip, based on the iPhone 11’s A13, which promises to be 20% faster than the previous smartwatch, keeping battery life at 18 hours. The always-on Retina display has a brightness 2.5 times greater in energy saving mode. For the first time, 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks and an Apple U1 chip with ultra wideband technology are supported.
The aluminum versions have gained new colors: in addition to silver, space gray and gold, which we have seen in past generations, it will be possible to buy a model with a blue or red box.
There are also two new bracelets, both without a zipper: Loop Solo (made of rubber) and Loop Solo Braided (made of interlaced silicone threads). These bracelets are elastic, but you need to choose one of the nine sizes most appropriate for your wrist, and they can only be purchased through Apple’s own channels.
Prices vary according to the material (aluminum, stainless steel or titanium), the size (40 or 44 mm), the connectivity (GPS or GPS + 4G) and the bracelet. Here are some of the values practiced in Brazil:

Apple Watch SE is “cheaper” version with the look of Series 5
With prices starting at R $ 3,799, the Apple Watch SE is positioned between the new Series 6 (R $ 5,299) and the old Series 3 (R $ 2,599), which will continue to be sold by Apple. Regarding the more accessible model, there is an S5 processor up to twice as powerful and a 30% larger screen with thin edges. You lose the ECG, the SpO2 meter and the Series 6’s always-on screen, however.
The model has sleep monitoring, fall detection and water resistant body to record your swimming activities. An always-on altimeter and a new compass promise to improve the accuracy of your location and provide your altitude in real time, information that can be used by outdoor exercise apps, for example.
