all about the Apple event – Gadgets – Tecnoblog

A Apple held an event this Monday (18). Apple introduced the new generation of the line MacBook Pro, now with chip M1 Pro e M1 Max, in addition to the 3rd generation of headphones AirPods, new colors of HomePod and a cheap plan from Apple Music. Check out everything the company has announced and the details of each product.

The big star of today’s event is the new line of MacBooks. They feature the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, which promise performance at least 3.7 times faster than models with Intel Core i7.

What Apple announced at the event is impressive. The M1 Max uses a 5-nanometer architecture and has 57 billion transmitters, a ten-core CPU and a GPU with up to 32 cores (!!!).

A detail that draws attention is on the screen: the new MacBooks now include a notch like the iPhones, and there is housed the new webcam with 1080p resolution and f/2.2 aperture. The mini-LED display has a brightness of up to 1600 nits and has a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz (ProMotion).

You can say that Apple wanted to please professional users: the new MacBooks brought back the MagSafe connector, which is able to recharge Macs with up to 140 watts (!!!) and deliver 50% autonomy in just 30 minutes. The advantage of this port is that it is magnetic, and the cable is easily disconnected if someone bumps into the wire.

Another step back was the extinction of the Touch Bar. The much-criticized small screen above the keyboard said goodbye; in the place were only conventional keys, as they always should have been.

Finally, the 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro now has more ports: in addition to the three Thunderbolt 4 inputs (USB-C standard), the Macs again have HDMI output and SD card reader.

But all this comes at a price. The new MacBooks have surprising specs, but Apple charges dearly. It is possible to customize all models for the M1 Max chip, but the upgrade value depends on the chosen version.

That shouldn’t be cause for celebration, but MacBook Pro has returned to HDMI and SD reader (Image: Playback / Apple)

The entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro model costs R$26,999 and features an M1 Pro chip with an 8-core CPU, 14-core GPU, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD.

In the 16-inch version, the base model also uses M1 Pro chip, has 10-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD, but with a price of R$ 32,999.

2. AirPods 3 now have spatial audio

Apple’s darling headset also gained news: the 3rd generation AirPods now supports space audio, a feature that was only available on AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.

With simple changes in design, the new AirPods now has battery for up to six hours of continuous use and 30 hours in total with the autonomy of the case. The product also gained support for MagSafe magnetic wireless charging in addition to the traditional Lightning port.

The sad news is that active noise cancellation remains exclusive to the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max lines. In addition, the 2nd generation AirPods will also continue to be sold at a lower price.

Speaking of price, they are not at all inviting: Apple will sell the 3rd generation AirPods in Brazil for R$2,399. With this amount it is more advantageous to buy an AirPods Pro, which currently retails for less than R$1,500.

One of the weirdest additions to this Apple event is a new Apple Music plan exclusive to Siri. That’s right: you won’t be able to open the Music app and select what you want to listen to; you will need to request the track, album, artist or playlist by voice to the virtual assistant.

The cost of this plan is lower, and has a monthly fee of $4.99 in the United States – half of the traditional Apple Music, sold for $9.99 a month.

There is still no forecast for the arrival of the Apple Music Voice Plan in Brazil.

The line of smart speakers from Apple has not gained significant news, but the HomePod Mini now has new colors: yellow, orange and blue, in addition to the traditional black and white.

For us Brazilians, this is a novelty that will not be missed: Apple does not sell the HomePod line here, and the product is not compatible with Siri in Portuguese.

Coming here: macOS Monterey arrives on October 25th

Apple also released the official release date for the new macOS Monterey. The update of the operating system of the computers on the mace will be free and can be downloaded from next Monday (25).

The new version of macOS brings features such as Focus mode, new Safari and the Shortcuts app, as well as improvements in FaceTime and Notes.
