It seems like yesterday that Gilmore Girls premiered on television, but this event is already 20 years old. The production created by Amy Sherman-Palladino brought, over seven seasons, intense conflicts between the characters and a lot of fun for the spectators.
Gilmore Girls tells the adventures and misadventures of Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel). Between comings and goings with diverse love interests, complex family situations, friendships, maturation, marriages, frustrations and other recurring themes, the series moved the audience with its bittersweet drama full of well-orchestrated nuances.
The production left the audience orphaned in 2007, when it aired its ending, but was added to the Netflix catalog in 2016 with an intense four-episode revival.
In this list, we will see some series similar to Gilmore Girls to be thrilled just like the characters in Stars Hollow.

With five seasons, Jane the Virgin approaches Gilmore Girls precisely because of the maturity and relationships cultivated by three generations of women. The production features a daughter (Gina Rodriguez), her mother (Andrea Navedo) and her grandmother (Ivonne Coll) dealing with the most diverse subjects.
The production of the broadcaster The CW focuses on slightly more delicate and profound themes, but with nuances that can certainly amuse the public. Watch all seasons on Netflix.
Issa Rae has already proved, over the four seasons of Insecure, who manages to be an expert screenwriter. She stars and produces the series on HBO and masterfully presents the conflicts of adult life for a black woman in the United States. The production has the same relaxed atmosphere as Gilmore Girls and still manages to treat the relationships between the characters with great honesty and fluidity.
Insecure it also bets on the intimacy and sexuality of its agents, something quite different from The CW series. The episodes can be watched by streaming HBO Go.
3. I never…
Although I never… (Never Have I Ever…) has a very strong focus on the development of the protagonist’s personality, also strongly betting on the conflict between Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and her mother, Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan). The bond between mother and daughter and interpersonal conflicts will make fans of Gilmore Girls get emotional, then run to see. The 1st season of I never… is available on Netflix.
The NBC series has similarities to Gilmore Girls that can go far beyond Lauren Graham’s role. The focus of Parenthood is a dysfunctional family full of very interesting and curious nuances. For six highly acclaimed seasons, by the way, the audience was thrilled and had a good laugh.
